Flatland BMX is a unique style of BMX performed exclusively on flat ground, without the use of ramps, jumps, rails, or grinds. Riders showcase impressive balance and intricate spins, resembling breakdancing on a bicycle. Although it is less popular than it once was, flatland BMX is far from dead—many dedicated riders continue to practice and perfect this artistic and technical discipline.
Recently, we sold our flatland-inspired custom complete BMX, giving us the opportunity to build this stunning new one. For the foundation, we chose the Autum The Katze V2 frame. While not originally designed for flatland, its short top tube, compact rear triangle, and low standover height make it an excellent choice for flatland riding.
Though front brakes—or any brakes at all—are rare in BMX these days, we still had an Odyssey F25 fork in stock. Its short offset makes it ideal for the maneuverable nature of flatland BMX while also providing the necessary mount for a front brake, which is essential in flatland riding. Paired with the Cult Max Vu stem, it creates the perfect short and nimble front end.
